Ask about a coordinated clinical review
Identify the questions that span specialties
Complex care may involve diagnosis, procedure planning, rehabilitation and management of other medical conditions. Explain which decisions need coordination and list the clinicians already involved. This helps the team consider whether a single specialist assessment or a broader discussion is the appropriate starting point.
Create one clear set of records
Bring together relevant reports, imaging, treatment history and medicines rather than sending separate fragments without context. Note differences between previous recommendations that you want clarified. The reviewing clinicians may need additional information before deciding who should participate or whether an in-person assessment is necessary.
Clarify responsibility and communication
Ask who would coordinate the review, explain recommendations and oversee follow-up. A coordinated discussion should make the next steps easier to understand, including any remaining uncertainty. The availability and format of a multidisciplinary review must be confirmed for the individual case.
