Appointment Types
Different appointment types serve different purposes. Choosing the right starting point helps ensure the team has the information and time needed to address your questions.
Find the right appointment
First consultations
A first consultation usually focuses on your current concerns, health history, previous investigations and what you hope to understand. Tell the team if you have several concerns or need language assistance. Confirm whether records should be reviewed before the appointment and what to bring on the day.
Reviews and follow-ups
A follow-up may review symptoms, test results, recovery or the response to a treatment plan. Explain what has changed since the previous visit and whether any requested investigations are complete. Ask whether the same clinician should review you and which appointment format is suitable.
Tests and procedures
An investigation or procedure appointment may require a clinical request, prior assessment or specific preparation. A general consultation does not automatically include a test or treatment. Check exactly what is being booked, whether a separate review is needed, and how results or next steps will be discussed.
