    • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Medical History

Omar Fernandez, a 35-year-old male from Venezuela, was admitted to Puhua International Hospital (PIH) in Beijing due to "Motion disorder in four limbs and aphasia following a traffic accident and subsequent surgery." He suffered a severe brain trauma after a road traffic accident on March 23, 2000. The accident resulted in mixed aphasia, spastic hemiplegia on the right side of his body, spastic hemiparesis on the left side, quadriparesis, motor aphasia, and dependence on a stoma feeding fistula for nourishment.

Medical Condition Before Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)

  • Confined to a wheelchair with no independent mobility
  • Head drooping; unable to support body properly
  • Muscle strength: Legs 0/5
  • Relatively clear consciousness despite motor aphasia

Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)

Omar underwent neural stem cell injections via lumbar puncture, followed by a self-stem cell activation and proliferation program. Additionally, he received rehabilitation therapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments.

Medical Condition After Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)

After completing his SCT, Omar experienced substantial improvements:

  • Regained the ability to swallow liquid food independently, allowing him to discontinue the stoma feeding fistula
  • Improved head control; able to hold up his head unassisted for short periods and maintain a straighter body posture
  • Increased trunk strength and stability
  • Improved muscle strength in legs:
    • Left leg: 2/5 (able to move independently)
    • Right leg: 1/5 (improved movement control)

Omar's successful recovery after SCT has significantly improved his quality of life, allowing him greater independence and mobility.
